Lars Mikkelsen3-765x1024At age 27, he entered the National Theatre School of Denmark and was graduated in the year 1995. He was also featured in The Killing, a drama series that aired worldwide. He then appeared in Borgen III and Those Who Kill two critically well-known Danish dramas. He played the role of Charles Augustus Magnussen, a blackmailer, during an episode of BBC drama Sherlock. He played the president of Russia in House of Cards, an American TV show. He received an International Emmy Award in 2018 for his performance in the Danish television drama Herrens Veje. This series was broadcast in the UK as Ride Upon the Storm in 2019. He claims that the two brothers first picked up English by listening to Monty Python records and learning the sketches from the comedy show.
