Ani Difranco
Angela Maria Ani DiFranco (born Angela Maria Ani DiFranco) is a American as well as a Canadian artist and singer. She has released more than 20 albums. Her music is classified as folk and alternative rock but includes influence from hip hop and jazz. Ani DiFranco was the very first musician to start her own record company in 1990. Ani is widely considered as a feminist icons. DiFranco was a born on the 23rd of September 1970, in Buffalo New York. Her parents were Elizabeth (Ross), from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and Dante Americo DiFranco. Her mother hails from Montreal as is her father, who is Italian heritage. Ani Difrasco composed and recorded the song "32 Flavors". The song can be found on the album Not a Pretty Girl by Ani diFranco. It was released in 1996. It was also featured on the soundtrack for the Canadian romantic comedy Better Than Chocolate, released in 1999. DiFranco has since apologized when it became known that she had planned to host the three-day event in the site of a Louisiana former plantation for slaves. The course was later cancelled however, she did not express any regret. DiFranco apologized a couple of days afterwards.
