Ina Garten is an acclaimed American cookery book author and Emmy award-winning host of Food Networks current oldest show Barefoot Contessa which began in 2002 and has aired 27 seasons until 2020. Ina started her career in the White House as a writer of nuclear energy policy documents and the budget. Although she initially found it intellectually stimulating she eventually stopped her interest. She then bought the Barefoot Contessa a small speciality food shop. After nearly 18 years of making the business a massive success, she sold it, and then began creating her first novel. There were many more cookbooks, and magazines columns that came later. Another success is her Food Network Television show. In addition, she sells all kinds of cooking equipment, items and even containers. Ina is a self-taught cook who has never been to a cooking class and has never worked in an kitchen. Ina is well-known for her effortless approach to entertainment and simple food preparation. Some of her best known recipes include the Skillet-Roasted lemon Chicken Beatty's Chocolate Cake Mac and Cheese Beef Bourguignon Balsamic-Roasted Brussels Sprouts and Lemon Bars.
